How to make

Step 1

Start by painting the entirety of each MDF letter using your chosen Pebeo acrylic paint.

Once the first coat is dry, apply a second to achieve even coverage.

Step 2

Once the paint is completly dry, take the gilding paste and a small paintbrush and apply the adhesive sporadically to the MDF letter.

Step 3

Leave the gilding paste to set for a couple of minutes before applying the gold leaf on top.

Lightly press the flakes into the paste using your fingers.

Step 4

Leave the gilding paste to set for a few more minutes, then use a soft brush to remove the excess flakes by lightly brushing over the area.

If you would like more of the letter covered in flakes apply more gilding paste and repeat the process of adding the flakes and brishing them away.

Step 5

Continue adding the gilding paste and flakes to the rest of the letter until it is completely covered.

Leave to dry.

Step 6

Repeat steps two to five for the remaining letters.
