Cuthbert the cow has been wandering the Scottish Highlands in search of his friends and – most importantly – their St Andrew's Day feast! He's following the distant sound of the bagpipes to find his fellow Highland cows before the feast begins.

Assembly:

- Stuff Nose gently and sew to face.

- Stuff Horns and sew to head.

- Fold Ears at one end and sew below Horns.

- Sew Tail to back of Body.

- Stuff Legs and sew them to the bottom of the Body, evenly spaced.

- Place/sew eyes if you haven't already.

I've never used the loop stitch before and had to teach myself the stitch before starting it. Once mastered, it wasnt to bad until you come to placing the eyes. What size eyes? No idea! Where do you place them? Well it's row 30 but how far apart? As much as I like the patterns from Beardie n Blondie, I do find parts very confusing. Sorry :-(x

Rated 5 out of 5 by bluedupes from quirky but cute highland cow pattern First pattern I've done from beardie and blondie, once I'd learned the loop stitch and got to to grips with their terms it was pretty straight forward. HOWEVER I did run out of the main colour of wool! and I do crochet on the tighter side so I would definitely recommend buying more than what the pattern states. Also.. placing the eyes!? just need to experiment with what looks best really. I chose to make my horns and tongue slightly bigger. I made my own ears, I wasn't keen on the patterns one. Overall it was quite quick to make too!

I'm a novice crocheter this is the fifth thing I've ever made and the first thing where I've used written instructions and not YouTube videos. It didn't really turn out like the photo but I used a different size of yarn different eyes etc. So it's on me but I really like the way it came out and mine is so derpy. It was also my first time doing a loop stitch!
