Step-1
Covering the wreath: You will first need to crochet a long sleeve which will be wrapped over the wreath and sewn together at the back. To do this, use the Aran weight yarn (you may wish to use chunky or DK yarn you will just need to add or decrease your starter chain and length of the sleeve)
Step-2
With the size 4mm hook Chain 41, dc in second chain from hook and through the rest of the chain, Chain 1, turn. [40]
Step-3
Rows 2-205: dc in each stitch, chain 1, turn.
Step-4
(Keep checking the length of the sleeve around the wreath, you may need more or less rows to match the ends up snuggly)
Step-5
Leave a long tail when you have finished the sleeve, wrap your crochet sleeve around the wreath making sure your rows match up, using your tapestry needle sew it together. It can be a bit fiddly, but make sure the rows match up together and it will all come together at the end.
Step-6
Hook: Still using the same yarn as the wreath sleeve. Chain 75, dc into first chain to make a loop, dc in each chain hereafter until you get back to first chain. Finish off and weave in yarn ends.
Step-7
Fold your loop around the wreath (where you stitched your ends together) pull the back end through the front end to form a loop, which will then be your hook to hang on to the door.
