How to Crochet an Autumn Leaf Cushion

Pattern Notes
Gauge - 13 sts by 13 rows in dc blo to measure 10cm using 6mm crochet hook, or hook required to meet stated tension.
Measurements- Finished Cushion - 38 x 52cm (15” x 20½”)
The cushion is made of 2 crochet leaves, which are joined on completion.
Starting/turning chs do not count as a st throughout.
Work is turned at the end of each row.
To create the leaf shape some short rows are used. Stitch markers can be used to mark the short row row ends making them easy to identify when stitches need to be worked into them.

Construction
Step 1: Lay leaves one on top of the other, both with RS facing up (meaning WS and RS will be touching in the centre).
Step 2: Pin around the leaves to hold them together, ensuring the points on the leaves align.
Step 3: Sew around leaves to join. Leave cushion bottom open for stuffing.
Step 4: Stuff the cushion with toy filling before sewing across the bottom of the cushion to close.
Step 5: Fasten off and weave in all ends.
