How to Crochet Tropical Patches
Everyone loves denim patches this season so why not crochet your own with these amazing designs! They are made using our Knitcraft Cotton Blend which come in a great range of colours.

Dc double crochet
Dc2tog double crochet 2 sts together.
Glass base
Using White yarn, ch9.
Row 1 (RS) Dc in 2nd ch from hook, htr in each of next 2 ch, tr in each of next 2 ch, htr in each of next 2 ch, dc in last ch, fasten off.
The pineapple is worked from the top down then the leaves added.
Using Yellow yarn, ch6.
Row 1 (RS) 2-tr cluster in 4th ch from hook, ch1, 2-tr cluster in next ch, htr in last ch, turn.
Row 2 (WS) Ch2, tr in st at base of ch-2, ch1, 2-tr cluster in next cluster, ch1, skip ch-1 sp, 2-tr cluster in next cluster, ch1, 2-tr cluster in top of turning ch, turn.
Row 3 Ch3, 2-tr cluster in st at base of ch-3, ch1, (2-tr cluster in next cluster, ch1) twice, (2-tr cluster, tr) in top of next tr, turn.
Row 4 Ch2, 2-tr cluster in first cluster, ch1, (2-tr cluster in next cluster, ch1) twice, 2-tr cluster in next cluster, htr in top of turning ch, turn.
Row 5 Ch2, 2-tr cluster in first cluster, (ch1, 2-tr cluster in next cluster) twice, htr in next cluster, fasten off.
Leaves
With RS facing, join Green yarn in first ch of opposite side of starting ch, ch6, ss to 2nd ch from hook, ss in next ch, dc in each of next 3 ch, ss in same ch on starting ch, *ch6, ss to 2nd ch from hook, ss in next ch, dc in each of next 3 ch, ss in next ch on starting ch; repeat from * twice more, ch6, ss to 2nd ch from hook, ss in next ch, dc in each of next 3 ch, ss in same ch on starting ch, fasten off.
Using Red yarn, ch4.
Row 1 (RS) Dc in 2nd ch from hook and each of next 2 ch, turn. [3 dc]
Row 2 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), 2dc in first st, dc in next st, 2 dc in last st, turn. [5 dc]
Row 3 Ch1, 2dc in first st, dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in last st, turn. [7 dc]
Row 4 Ch1, 2dc in first st, dc in each of next 5 sts, 2 dc in last st, turn. [9 dc]
Rows 5-11 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn. [9 dc]
Row 12 Ch1, skip first st, dc in each of next 6 sts, dc2tog, turn. [7 sts]
Row 13 Ch1, skip first st, dc in each of next 4 sts, dc2tog, turn. [5 sts]
Row 14 Ch1, skip first st, dc in each of next 2 sts, dc2tog, turn. [3 sts]
Row 15 Ch1, 2dc in first st, dc in next st, change to White yarn holding Red yarn on WS of work, 2 dc in last st, turn. [5 dc]

Rows 18-19 Repeat Rows 16-17, fasten off White yarn.
Row 20 Rejoin Red Yarn in first st, ch1, dc in first 4 sts, fasten off leaving last st unworked.
Bridge
Using Lilac yarn, ch21.
Row 1 (RS) Dc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in each of next 8 ch, ss in each of next 2 ch, dc in each of next 9 ch, fasten off. [20 sts]
First Lens
Row 1 (RS) With RS of Bridge facing, join Black in 3rd dc, ch1 (does not count as st throughout), dc in same st and each of next 5 sts, turn. [6 dc]
Rows 2-3 Ch1, dc in same st and each of next 5 sts, turn. [6 dc]
Row 4 Ch1, dc in same st and each of next 4 sts, turn, leaving last st unworked. [5 dc]
Row 5 Ch1, dc in same st and each of next 3 sts, fasten off, leaving last st unworked. [4 dc]
Next Lens
Row 1 (RS) With RS of Sunglasses facing, skip next (dc, 2 ss, dc) of Bridge, join Black in next dc, ch1 (does not count as st throughout), dc in same st and each of next 5 sts, turn. [6 dc]
Rows 2-3 Ch1, dc in same st and each of next 5 sts, turn. [6 dc]
Row 4 Ch1, skip first st, dc in each of next 5 sts, turn. [5 dc]
Row 5 Ch1, skip first st, dc in each of next 4 sts, fasten off. [4 dc]
Frames
Join Lilac in first dc of Bridge, ch1, dc in same st, dc in next lilac st, rotate to work into Row ends of first lens, dc in each of next 5 Row ends, rotate to work into sts of last Row of lens, 2dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, rotate to work into opposite Row ends of same lens, dc in each of next 5 Row ends, dc2tog twice over next 4 sts of Bridge, rotate to work into Row ends of next lens, dc in each of next 5 Row ends, rotate to work into sts of last Row of lens, 2dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, rotate to work into opposite Row ends of same lens, dc in each of next 5 Row ends, dc in last 2 sts of Bridge, fasten off and weave in ends.
