How to Make

Abbreviations:

K Knit

P Purl

YO Yarn Over

st/sts Stitch/Stitches

TENSION

14sts x 10rows for 10cm/4” square, using the yarn held double on 5.5mm needles in stockinette

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

18cm from top of bralette cup to bottom of crop top band, 90cm around. Neck and back ties allow for the size to be adjusted.

This pattern has a lot of flexibility for sizing! It is created for a UK size 10, however can easily be adjusted for larger or smaller sizes. Want more coverage? Keep working the crop top bralette cup increases until the triangles are bigger. Want a bigger bust band? Cast on additional stitches at steps 8 and 9 to wrap around your midriff. Want a longer top? Work extra rows in rib!

Crop Top: Step-1

Using two strands of Knitcraft Cotton Blend Plain in Teal, cast on 3 sts using the Long-tail cast on technique

Step-2
P one row
Step-3
K1, YO, K until you have 1 st remaining, YO, K1. (5 sts)
Step-4
P one row
Step-5
Repeat Steps 3-4 until you have 23 sts.
Step-6
Work 4 rows in stockinette.
Step-7
Cut the yarn, but don't cast off – transfer your stitches to a stitch holder.
Step-8
Repeat Steps 1-6 for the other bralette cup. At the end of the final purl row, cast on 10 sts using the backwards loop technique. (33 sts)
Step-9
Turn your work. Work in 1×1 rib across the new stitches and first bralette cup, and then transfer the second bralette cup back to your needles and work 1×1 rib across these stitches. At the end of the row, cast on 10 sts using the backwards loop technique. (66 sts)
Step-10
Work in 1×1 rib for 10 rows. Cast off, using a stretchy cast off technique.
Asembley: Step-1

Make a tie cord: Cut a 4x 3.5m lengths of Knitcraft Cotton Blend Plain in Teal, and knot the 4 strands together at each end. Slip one end over a door handle, and insert a knitting needle into the other end. Hold the yarn taut and twist the strands of yarn anti-clockwise, until the yarn twists back on itself. When this happens, fold the yarn in half so that the cord wraps around itself, and tie the ends together. Repeat to make a second cord.

Step-2
Repeat Step 1, using 4x 5.5m lengths of yarn.
Step-3
Make 2x 5cm tassels in each shade of yarn.
Step-4

Thread the short cords through the top of the bralette cups, and attach a different coloured tassel on each end. Thread the long cord through the edges of the 1×1 rib at the bottom of the bralette, so that it crosses at the back, and attach a different coloured tassel. Weave in all ends.
