How to Make a Garland for Your Wedding
Enhance your wedding décor by incorporating a beautiful wedding garland. This super-simple wedding garland can be made in any size you like, using various plants and flowers.
The garland is ideal for a botanical wedding, with the design easily customisable if you would like to incorporate other flowers and foliage to suit your theme.
Best of all, this garland can be kept long after the big day! Hang it up in your home or save it for other special occasions.

How to make
* Oasis Green Hobby Wire 25cm
* Oasis Floral Scissors
* Kraft Brown Jute Twine 33m
* Eucalyptus Spray
* Parsley Fern 48cm
* Asparagus Bush 50cm
* Eucalyptus Bush 49cm
* Sword Fern 6 Pieces
Cut the string to the size needed. (String shown in the image is 1.3m long)
Tie the string around the first stem of the stalk being used. Double knot.
Now attach your wire to the same part.
The string is being used to guide you on the length, the wire is holding everything together by binding each stem.
Once everything is secured on, place another stem just below the stalk of the top foliage.
Now wrap the wire around both stem, stalk and string. Securing them together.
Leaving the string intertwined with everything (this will travel along with the design, getting less with each stem being used).
Go around a few times travelling down the stalk.
With the same steps as above, place another stem just below the stalk of that top foliage and wrap the wire around the stalk travelling down the stem and string.
By repeating each stage you should have a continuous garland (this means that all three stems are now overlapped and growing in length).
Do this until you are just about to the end of the string.
Top Tip: Remember to mix the foliage to give it a natural and textural look.
Once at the end, cut the stalk down so that they're all the same length around 5 - 8cm long.
Leave the wire attached.
Now with another piece of foliage, place the stem in the opposite direction, creating an end.
You will do this by poking the stalk back through the existing stems, hiding it among the foliage.
Wrap the wire around the stalk and stem to secure them together moving back up towards the top of the garland.
Add another piece of foliage on top overlapping the existing stem, making sure it is mixed in with the other foliage so you don't see the stalk, travelling in the same direction (opposite to the main garland).
As above, copy the steps. Wrap the wire around both stems and stalk securing them together.
Once you have closed the gap, tie off the wire and string by double knotting, then cut away the excess wire.
Now you can bend the foliage over to the opposite sides to create a fuller look and blending the two directions together.
Once complete, it's time to hang your garland in pride of place.
Top Tip: This garland also makes a great focal point for a top table and can easily be used within your ceremony too.
