Step 1
First measure and cut the craft tubes down in size for the characters- 4cm for the pumpkin, 6cm for the ghost, 8cm for the owl, 9cm for the cat and 10cm for the witch. Press the top edges down on the cat and owl tubes to create ears, and then paint all the tubes.

Step 2
Next, carefully cut the plastic openings out of the clean, empty juice cartons and discard. Then measure and cut off the bottom sections so that they vary slightly in height. Paint them black and lilac and leave to dry - repeat with a second coat.

Step 3
To make the roofs, first measure and cut out a rectangular piece of black, lilac and orange paper, and black, lilac and orange felt. Fold the paper pieces in half, and then glue the felt to each. Stick the roofs to each painted carton.

Step 4
For the witch, first cut and stick a 5cm wide piece of felt around the bottom section of the green tube. Then cut a 4cm wide piece of orange felt, and snip along one side to create hair. Stick it over the top and round the back of the tube. For the hat, draw around a tumbler twice on black paper, and cut out. Roll one circle to create a cone and cut segments in the centre of the for the for the brim. Fold up the segments and glue inside the cone, then stick the hat to the witch’s head. Add some wiggle eyes, a nose and mouth.

Step 6
For the owl, first cut out some oval shaped pieces of lilac felt, and smaller pieces in orange felt, and glue together - stick to the sides of the lilac tube. Then fold a small piece of orange paper in half and cut out a triangle shape - glue to the owl’s face. Finally add some wiggle eyes.

Step 7
For the ghost, simple glue some large wiggle eyes to the white tube and draw on a black mouth. Do the same for the pumpkin using smaller eyes, and then make a stalk with a green pipe cleaner- wrap it around a pencil to create a twirl, then glue to the top of the orange tube.
