Step 1

Start by pressing the fat quarters to remove the creases. Using a piece of A3 paper create a template for the crackers, it should measure 28 x 36.5cm. Transfer onto the fabric and add a seam allowance of 1.5cm all the way round. Cut out the fabric rectangles.

Step 2

Press down the seam allowances, fold down 0.5cm and then fold down 1cm and pin. Sew all around the approx. 0.8cm from the edge.

Step 3

Download and print the FREE embroidery designs template, and then, using a good light source, trace onto the fabric. Use an erasable pen in a colour that will show clearly.

Step 4

Place into a 4” hoop. Then, using three strands of thread, back stitch the letter.

Then, using two strands of thread, back stitch around the wreath, adding Lazy Daisy stitches for the leaves. Repeat for the other letters.

Step 5

Stitch the edge decorations using two strands of thread. Using a variety of Fern Stitch, Chain Stitch, Split Stitch, Cross Stitches, Whipped Back Stitch and Lazy Daisy stitches. These can all be found in our Stitch Guides.

Step 6

Press the fabrics well and remove all the erasable pen marks. Take a cardboard tube and place on the centre top of the fabric. Add in any treats and party hats etc. Wrap around tightly.

Step 7

Cut the ribbons in half, and tie tightly around each end.

Tie the ribbons into a bow and trim the edges diagonally so they don't fray.

Step 8

Repeat step 7 on your remaining crackers, before displaying them in pride of place on your dining table.
