How to Make Gold Ceramic Christmas Decorations

Decorations don't have to be difficult, as these ceramic gold ones demonstrate! All you need is a small can of spraypaint and some masking tape to achieve something beautiful.

Step-1

Begin by deciding which areas of the ceramic you want to spray gold. I decided to choose areas that seemed like features, for example the reindeer antlers, on some of the decorations, and others to spray completely.

Step-2

Use masking tape to section off the areas you don't want sprayed.

Step-3

Lay some newspaper down outside or in a well-ventilated area.

Step-4

Using even pressure, begin spraying your decoration. It is best to use short sprays at a distance of around 20-30cm from the decoration, and build up the layers, as otherwise the paint will begin to drip and look messy.

Step-5

Leave to dry, then turn over and spray the other side as before.

Step-6

Once both sides are dry, peel off the masking tape to reveal your finished decoration.
