How to Make Spring Craft Rolls
Bring quirky spring-inspired characters to life with these colourful spring craft rolls! This is the perfect way to jump into fun spring crafting projects using craft materials you may even have lying a round the house.
Using cardboard rolls and some pipe cleaners, you'll have a whole family of animals before you know it. Follow along this step-by-step tutorial and learn how you can recreate it all.

Paint a selection of cardboard tubes in pink , lilac, yellow, mint green and brown, and leave to dry.
For the chick, glue some yellow feathers to the side of a yellow tube. Then cut out an orange paper beak, and some fringed hair, and glue in place.
For the bunny, cut out some pink paper ears and glue on the pink tube along with a pink pom pom nose. Draw on some whiskers, and then finish with a pair of wiggle eyes on both
To make a butterfly, take the lilac painted tube and cut out a pait or blue paper wings, and stick to the back. Bend a small black pipe cleaner piece into antennae, and glue to the top. Then add some wiggle eyes, and draw on a cute smile
Next, make the caterpillar – measure and carefully cut the mint green painted tube into 2cm wide sections. Stick four pieces together side by side, and then glue the final piece on the top of one end. Make two holes in the top of the head piece and poke a small piece of green pipe cleaner through, then finish off with two big wiggle eyes.
For the bee, first cut and stick some 0.5cm wide strips of black felt around the other yellow painted tube. Then cut out a pair of white card wings and glue to the back, and stick a small piece of folded black pipe cleaner to the top. Finally add some wiggle eyes and a smile to the face.
Now, make the trees – cut out the green paper tree tops and add some red paper apples. Cut slits in the tops of the brown painted tubes, and slot the tree tops in place
To make the shed, first paint the small box beige and leave to dry. Then measure and fold a piece of white card for the slanted roof, and cover this with beige felt.
Using a ruler and pencil, draw a door and window on the shed, then go over the lines with a black pen.
Draw horizontal lines with a pencil on each side of the shed, and vertical lines on the door.
Carefully cut the door open with a craft knife, and then decorate the shed with felt bees and carrots.
Once all the components are dry, the spring craft rolls are ready to play with!
