How to Make Story Stones

Story stones can be created from any smooth pebble or rock found in the garden, or you can buy a jar of stones online and in store at Hobbycraft!

How to make
Step 1
Decide what you would like in your story – there should be a mixture of objects, places and characters for the stones to work. Draw out the outline of each picture onto the pebbles using black Sharpie.
Step 2
Use a fine brush to fill in the pictures using acrylic paint and leave to dry. Add a coat of varnish to give the pebbles a nice shiny finish.
Step 3
To decorate the story stones bag, use pencil to write onto the fabric then go over with Sharpie. Add a little picture of a story book to complete.
