3 Kids' Autumn Leaf Crafts
Turn woodland walks and garden foraging into the perfect opportunity to gather up your craft supplies this autumn!
Collect fallen leaves, acorns and sticks to make a trio of woodland animals. Choose from three fun craft projects for kids, with a cute fox mask, playful squirrel puppets, and charming owls on a stick, each designed to capture imaginations.
These leaf crafts offer a fun, hands-on way to celebrate the season and spark kids’ creativity using nature’s treasures.

Print out the fox template and draw around it on a piece of cardboard. Cut out - take care when cutting the eyes.
Gather a selection of dried autumn leaves and trim the stems with scissors. Apply some glue to the mask and start to stick the leaves all over the surface.Continue until the cardboard is covered.
Use some white paint to add some detail to the ears, cheeks and chin. Allow to dry and then stick a black pom pom nose with glue.
Turn the mask over and place a bamboo dowel rod in the middle. Secure in place with strips of sticky tape.
Draw round the ramekin and glue stick lid on sheets of coloured card and cut out.
Stick some leaves to the sides of the large card circle for the owl’s wings.Then cut the pointy tips of some smaller leaves for the owl’s ears, beak and claws, and glue in place.
Glue the smaller card circles to the top of the owl’s body and add some googly eyes. Add a feathery chest detail with a black pen.
Sit the owls on the stick and secure in place with all purpose glue, leave to dry.
Draw the outline of the squirrel’s head and body on the cardboard tube, then paint brown.
Cut some dried leaves into ear shapes and glue to the top of the squirrel. Then add some googly eyes, a pom pom nose and a mouth drawn with a pen.
Pick a large leaf such as an Oak leaf for the tail, and glue in place.
Stick two smaller leaves to the sides of the squirrel for arms, then using a stronger glue add a little acorn. Leave to dry.
