Such a good kit!
I bought this for my 6 year old and he really enjoyed it. It says 8+ and I did have to help him with it a bit, but the instructions came with detailed diagrams he was able to follow along with and we built it together in under an hour. He also loves playing with it now we have installed it in a little locker he has in his bedroom. It helps keep his little brother out of it too. I would not attach it to my any of my actual doors as it comes with double sided sticky foam pads for mounting.

Worked for 5 minutes
My 8 year old enjoyed making this. Unfortunately it stopped working after about 5 minutes as the metal plates that completes the circuit did not have enough contact with each other and need pressing in order for the sound to go off. The instructions say to bend the plates to create more contact but this is not easy to do and as soon as the plastic is inserted to set up the alarm they are bent back out of shape. It has a lot of potential for fun but unfortunately has been more of a let down.

Looks great and is the ideal present for a growing teenage boy with 2 sisters. Just right to lock them out of his bedroom.
