No thumb grip
These hooks are very long. But have no thumb grip, I suppose I should’ve realised this in the shop. I appreciate that flattening the wood to put a grip area in would weaken the wood. A tubular hook is hard on the hands to work with.

Not as comfortable as I had hoped
Not the most comfortable of hooks to hold, and my wool did not slide as well. I only bought them for use on a flight. Once in Madeira I reverted to my more comfortable large handled hooks.

Lovely to use.
I have used these for a few days now and love them. Smooth and they slide easily with the wool. I can roll them as I make stitches as I am flexible with my grip.

A good budget alternative to Lantern Moon
3-star reviews are due to lack of research and reading the description
I have hook sets of varying materials and quality. Personally I much prefer wooden hooks for the slight grippy-ness with certain yarns, but also how they feel in hand. I don't like ergo hooks (those with larger grips) generally as I roll my hooks when hooking and looping a lot (vs wrist movement), and use Knit Pro and Lantern Moon a lot. These are a budget version of the Lantern Moon hooks and I'd say are worth the price. I've tried a few projects with them so far and, while they aren't as smooth as the waxed ebony or Lantern Moon, they are a good alternative and comfortable in hand. I like that they have moderately pointed tips but curvy hook ends as this helps with splitty yarn a lot.
They are similar in hook style as Hobby Crafts acrylic hooks (which are my go-to flying hooks), with a deep throat but maybe not so great with tapering from the throat cut to the neck. I think this will smooth out with time though. For the price I think they are a nice set of hooks if you like hooks that are: inline, wood, non-ergonomic. Good for small tunisian crochet projects actually too

Hi there :) Just wondering how long these are? I'm making a small tunisian project,
These are standard crochet hooks so probably not suitable for Tunisian crochet - about 18cm long.
