A really loved sewing kit
This “make your own penguin” is excellent and I would have given it 5 stars had the instructions been better.
My 11 year old grand daughter thoroughly enjoyed making it but I had to help with the order of sewing because the written instructions were not clear enough for joining the head to the body part.
The suggested sewing stitch is “backstitch” however from last experiences there is not enough thread to do this. Also the back of the penguin is not as neat as the front.
Consequently I advised her to do a running stitch and then go around again doing a running stitch in the opposite spaces.
The thread is 6 stranded cotton. I split it in half so she sewed using three strands. Much better and plenty of thread to complete the penguin.
