MisterCraft F-16A Thunderbirds Model Kit 1:72

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't purchase this brand of kit There is nothing to recommend with this brand of kit. Way overpriced at £13, terrible molding and decals are shocking. A whole sprue missing was missing as well. As a model builder with a spares box i could build and make something out of it. I would say stay well away from Mistercraft, save your money and buy Airfix, Revell or Italeri..and Hobbycraft should stop selling these now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Such a Shame Way too many large gaps. Parts required extensive trimming to fit in alternative positions. Lot of missing parts.. Won't be buying this Brand again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality Awful instructions, and the transfers fell apart, though we completed the model( eventually) . We'll never buy this brand again. Poor quality compared to other brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product sold by a trusted retailer. I bought this kit having read some of the reviews on the Hobbycraft website so I knew that it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience. I mainly bought it to use as a practice kit to get better at painting plastic model kits in white. On to the product itself... It really is the worst kit I have ever assembled in my time. Not a single part fits to another without serious modification to the point where the proportions of the aircraft are seriously affected. The plastic is of a very heavy constitution to the point where sanding is useless and you're better off removing vast amounts with a coarse file. My craft knife did manage to get a lot of use on this kit because there is so much flash on every part you'd think the moulds weren't sealed properly. Details are as you would expect with a kit in this price range, there are reasonably accurate panel lines, for example. The instructions appear to show parts in a deceiving manner, for example the thruster appears to have details where in reality it is a purely smooth conical shape. The frustrating issue and one that I absolutely cannot accept is the missing parts. The kit was sealed and still had many parts absent including the cockpit instrument panel, the forward landing gear door and an ejector seat. All in all if you're expecting quality don't buy a kit that costs just over a tenner, you won't get it. It's very disappointing to see a retailer like Hobbycraft selling a product that is clearly defective (missing parts) and should never have passed manufacturing QC. On the plus side, if you're an expert modeller and you want to give yourself a headache attempting to make something terrible look great, this product is your chance.
