Perfect all rounder for any age!
Really easy to use, not messy like traditional paints can be. No need for water and are used just like pens and pencils. Great for younger kids developing their drawing techniques and having fun. Great for all ages aswell, lots of choices of colours and as no water is needed a lower risk of paper falling apart during kids masterpiece creations.

Fun and not just for kids
I have been wanting to get some paint sticks for ages for use in mixed media artwork. These seemed okay price-wise and to be honest it was difficult to differentiate as Hobbycraft had quite a few paint stick sets to choose from. The basic idea is great as you twist to push up the paint like lipstick. They are not messy though it is not easy to work out where the line that you draw with is. The lids feel a bit flimsy like they might break in time and are not the easiest to get off. The main drawback is that these are marketed as ‘neon’ but really only the yellow one could possibly be described as bright, though even then perhaps not neon as such. The paint is also not as opaque as I thought it might be so it doesn’t cover ink, pastels or anything really and so is getting used as background or outlining colour. Despite this I enjoyed using them as they are very convenient, not at all messy and quick-drying and would definitely get paint sticks again, but just not these ones.

Disappointed
Disappointed they were not very neon and quite watery looking in colour texture. They did not afhrtr to the wood I was using them on. I think k will try again on another surface and perhaps get a better result.

Good and easy to use
Oh my son loves them. Just didn't check yet, if they are washable... Because as a mom, for me it is same important as it is bright colours for painting and enjoying crafts.
