Not just for crafting. :)
Full disclosure, I didn't buy this for crafting I bought it for electronic repairs to protect my workspace. It may not be as thick as others I have but it's very strong and can take a bit of loose rolling for storage. It's an ideal size for what I need and its bright colour helps to keep things visible while working. Very pleased with this mat.
