Poor quality paper
After purchasing the Hot Pressed Watercolour pad by Shore and Marsh I was very disappointed when using the first sheet as it was like blotting paper and absorbed the paint immediately which meant I could not move the paint around at all. I am an experienced artist and like to blend my colours on the paper. Even trying to do some more intricate parts of my painting the paint just disappeared and the colours were lost. I would definitely not recommend to anyone especially beginners in watercolour as I think they would give up as they would think they couldn’t do a nice picture !!!

Terrible for watercolours
I bought two pads of Shore and Marsh watercolour paper and I'm really disappointed. The grain of the paper is so strong that it pulls the water and colour into its grain but the watercolour is immovable once its added. It's impossible for the water to flow and you definitely can't lift any off. I'll need to use it for something else- it's terrible for watercolour.

Watercolour pad
The paper is of very good quality. Painting on this paper is great as if you add on another coat of the colour the paper withstands it, does not disintegrate, or fray.
