Lack of direction
Disappointed.
The front placket is a nightmare.
Why put in the instructions “ ignore interfacing in illustration “ , grr . Sewing directions are supposed to give directions.
If you can sort the front out the rest is a doddle .
I’m no novice at sewing but this was frustrating.

Instructions confusing and unhelpful
Pattern was just what I wanted but despite being a competent dressmaker the directions baffled and frustrated me. The written instructions did not match the illustrations clearly and I wasted a lot of time. I eventually gave up on instructions and used my own initiative. Won't choose any more from this range of Simplicity. 3/5

Sizing on Simplicity patterns different from UK
I’ve retuned to sewing after a gap of decades. I remember Simplicity patterns as easy to use (clue in the name!) and the instructions are easy to follow. But I was upset to discover on a sewing Facebook group that the size I buy when shopping on a UK high street is 2 sizes different from the sizes on this USA pattern. I didn’t make a toile so the lovely fabric I cut out for the top is not big enough to fit me. I have some extra material so will have to try to add a strip to the side seams. Not a great start to my plan to only wear ‘me made’ clothes!

Lovely pattern
Just made the trousers in a linen fabric. Pattern was true to size, easy to follow instruction and very happy with the result. Will definately use this pattern again.
