Not as good as expected
Really disappointed that the funnel does not fit into all jars. I used a 1lb jar but the funnel just sat on the top. I had to hold it with one hand, although it kept moving. Getting the jam into the jar with the other hand was difficult. One spoon at a time, quite a mess by the end. It would have been better if the end was long and tapered to fit in all jars.

Check before you buy
Recently purchased this item along with Hobbycraft 200ml jars X 12, unfortunately the funnel did not fit the opening inside or out. It did help but I had to hold the funnel over the jar while ladling the chutney causing some spillage and stickiness.

This is a necessity !
Only started making jam this year and tried filling jars without a jam funnel ,found it a bit dangerous trying to get very hot product into a small opening, it was recommended that I purchase a funnel for safety reasons, and I have to say that from my point of view it made a huge difference filling the jam jars with no spill over

Neck of the funnel much too wide
Neck of the funnel is much too wide for a vast majority of glass jars. I appreciate that it can't be too narrow, to accommodate chunky chutney etc but it was almost not worth having because at best it sat outside the neck of the jar not inside - which still makes a mess.

Looks great BUT too wide - waste of money
I am extremely disappointed with the performance of the funnel, as the funnel is too wide and sits on the outside of the rim of the jars when I have used it. I purchased my glass jars from Hobbycraft so thought that the funnel would be suitable to use.
The quality of the manufacture of the funnel is good, but it is unfortunately not fit for purpose.
If the funnel tapered to the width of the smallest jar that Hobbycraft sell then it would be far more useful. I will be returning the product

I bought this funnel on the assumption it would fit most of the jam jars that Hobby craft sell. Sadly, I was wrong. The funnel does not fit the 3 dozen jars I bought at the same time - rather too large. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand.

How wide is the neck of the funnel
Hi the bowl of the funnel is 16cms wide and the neck is 6cms wide, too big for small jam jars i.e 300ml. The neck is also very short. Hope that helps
