Not a good experience
I am an experienced soap maker and found this poor quality. It foams well, but the result was thick, gloopy, full of bubbles and lacking sheen. This points towards over heating, however the soap was cut uniformly and was checked (and lightly stirred) more regularly than the pack suggested during heating to ensure an even melt. In reality, it went from still having lumps to over heating within less than 10 seconds. I've not had this issue before, so it's unclear whether this was an issue with the brand, or just this pack. Either way, we had disappointing results and some confused kids.

Easy to use soap base.
Great soap product. Easy to cut melt and mix with colours and scents. Sets quickly and foams nicely when in use.

Can this be used for soap carving!
You should be able to as long as you watch out for bubbles as you pour, however be aware that what you add to it will affect the hardness of the finished item, which could make it too soft or crumbly for carving.
