Easy to use for any ability
This product is fantastic. It has several drawing and branding tips so you can achieve various designs. The product itself is easy to use and very easy to set up to start working straight away. You don't need to have used pyrography before as this set is easy to use for any skill level. It's especially good for beginners. It comes with some wooden blanks for you to get started and practice your techniques. I would highly recommend this product as it is good value for money and is a really good and solid product. This would make an ideal gift or just for a crafty treat for yourself .

Fantastic quality and value for money
This kit is fantastic value for money! It's introduced me to me world of pyrography and I can't get enough, already ordered a bulk of coasters to start making presents for Christmas! Highly satisfying and fun. As this is a beginners tool I believe the quality of the tips may not be as long lasting but it's a perfect introduction to decide if you would like to invest in a higher quality tool.

Future presents!
I have given this kit four stars rather than five, purely because of a couple of things. The flex could have been about 6" (150mm) longer. Even moving my table as near to the plug as possible it was still tricky, so now I have to buy a short extension lead. The stand has no heft to it, so, unless you are very careful, it will just slide off the table onto the floor when you rest the tool on it. The instructions could be more fulsome. However, it is great fun to use and I'm sure, once I get the hang of it, everyone will be getting Christmas presents from this kit!

Excellent kit
Excellent kit, includes lots of blanks to practice on. Works well, but doesn't have an adjustable heat setting which so far hasn't been a problem for me.

Tried the budget one in store...difficult to use and took a long time to heat up so bought this one instead. What a difference! So much easier to use and heated up very quickly.

Excellent starter kit
I've never done pyrography before and found this kit easy to use / get started with. Some useful instruction provided in the kit with all the basic hardware needed to get going - plus the blanks provided are varied and are a good practice aid. Definitely worth the money.

Good for beginners but could be better
I was gifted this set, and after a couple of times using it, I have found the following:
- The handle is 9cm away from the tip and this makes motor-control challenging; resting my hand on a yoga block helped with this.
- The cable is too short, which restricted movement. I had to have my multi-plug extension resting on the table to stop this.
- There is no physical on/off switch on the tool and no light to indicate when the tool has reached burning temperature. I had to set a 5 min timer after plugging it in to let me know when it was ready to use. Since heat dissipates from the tip when in use (heat transference to the wood), I have no way of knowing if the tool will overheat when plugged in but not in use. This means that if I want to take a 5 min break to make a cuppa, I need to unplug it first; but then when I come back, I have no way of knowing how long to leave it to heat up again before resuming.
All that being said, it is a good beginners tool with a variety of useful tips, and the kit contains everything you need to try pyrography for the first time. I guess it's done it's job as I'm already looking to upgrade to a more advanced pyrography tool that has a shorter length for better motor-control and an adjustable temperature.

Great beginner set
I wanted to learn something new and this is a great set to start with! I didn’t expect there to be so many wooden pieces with different shapes to practice on.
