Frame is too flimsy to carry the weight of the glass
At first it was great to find a frame this size that used glass. After getting it home and taking it out of the packaging (which then deemed it non refundable) I was really disappointed by the quality. The support the frame provides for the weight of the glass and backing was questionable. As the hooks were on the the backing board and the frame shouldn't have been strained too much, I hung it. Now a few weeks on, Its hung landscape and the longer lengths are bowed! I've now taken it down as a precaution, wasted money. The frame feels like a composite wood and would've been better with a solid (like soft pine), which was what I was expecting for the price.

I needed to mount and frame a Hobbycraft canvas panel 16"x20". The only mount with a 16"x20" aperture (the aperture was so precise there wasn't room for overlap) had an outside measurement of 60cmx80cm, which miraculously fitted into the inside measurement of the frame. (Other Hobbycraft mounts don't fit). So having now assembled painted panel, mount and glass the weight of this frame could never surely be trusted to hang from the fixing that appears to just be glued to the backing board. Due to the size of the frame the weight of glass causes the sides to bow. Other than that, the frame is perfectly adequate for lightweight framing at a very low price.
Hobbycraft, PLEASE could you join up your thinking on the sizes of products that you sell in your art/framing section. In particular, your mounts' outside measurements need to be the inside measurements of the equivalent frame size and your mount aperture size needs to allow for an overlap on equivalent board/photo/paper sizes. Also, on your larger frames please replace the glass with acrylic or Perspex.

Average Quality
Frame arrived promptly. I was slightly disappointed when I opened it as the quality wasn't best. The frame was pretty weak. However, I was in a hurry to frame some prints as a gift so I didn't have time to question whether to send it back or not. After 3 hours on the wall, it felt down and smashed. I have hung numerous frames with no problem. Perhaps I underestimated the weight but either way, it didn't last long!

I bought this frame with the aim of actually taking it apart to use for a craft project. I wanted to take out the glass and the backing in order to put three lines of string across the frame and peg photos from it. The frame worked for this purpose and as the wood was so soft, I was able to screw in hooks for the string without any problems. If I had been using the frame for it's intended purpose, I wouldn't have been happy with the quality. The frame felt like it wasn't strong enough to take the glass and that the wood might break at any moment. The corners also looked very poorly joined and the paint was even chipped at the edges. Worked for a craft project (though expensive really for that purpose) but definitely wouldn't buy to use as a picture frame.

Great quality
This frame is excellent quality. I struggled to find a big enough frame for a poster print I had at a good price but this frame was a perfect size, great quality and at a fab price! Highly recommended, it looks great on my wall!

Perfect Frame for Artwork
We needed some white, classic frames for our daughter's art work. I have also used professional framers, however, with so many paintings, that was getting expensive. This frame is lovely, modern and clean. Best part...you can access the art work and therefore, change it when the next painting comes in! Looks lovely hanging next to the other white, professional frames!

Simple and good value
I used these to frame some acrylic canvas artwork and they look great on our white walls with colourful paintings inside. Easy to open the back and roomy enough to squeeze in mount and fabric. Frames not solid wood so are slightly flexible, but plenty strong enough for paper/photos/prints. The bevelled mount is useful too but I didn't need it on this occasion.
