Treasure trove
I love this place, it has everything under the sun and you can spend ages looking at all the different things available and all your ideas come to life in Hobbycraft.
Staff are really helpful and knowledgable about the products in store, I suspect this is because they are also crafters.
I can think of nothing better than immersing yourself in being creative in making or decorating something.

A nice sheen
A very light weight varnish. I’ve used it to varnish wooden toys that I’ve painted in acrylic paint.
Not sure how they will hold up after being man handled by toddlers as the buyer hasn’t received them yet.
They look good though, a nice professional finish. Probably would be better for canvas artwork. You have to varnish quick as it starts to drag.

Leaves a beautiful finish
i bought this the other week to varnish some acrylic paintings and i have never varnished before so it seemed simple from the instructions. The varnish can be spread over a vast area.
However when i first applied my varnish i did worry abit because it looked like foam on my picture and i don’t know if i added to much or anything but i really panicked but it dried out clear so if that happens don’t panic like i did.
Also i have watched a lot of varnish videos on youtube.( i know very sad) but ik a lot of them talked about the gloss varnish to be to glossy and the matt to be to matt. A lot of artist said this and they said they mixed both together i did not want to spend the money on buying both so i bought the gloss varnish because i feel it makes the picture pop a bit more and i was expecting it to be over glossy but it left a really nice delicate shine to my painting.
i would defiantly recommend this varnish i love the finish it leaves

Great finish and good value
Winsor & Newton Galeria Gloss Varnish is great value as you get a lot of product for the price. The finish is excellent and hard wearing. I use it for sealing painted rocks. You must ensure that the medium you are sealing is completely dry before applying otherwise it can bleed or smudge, especially gel pens or markers.

great product
This is a great product easy to use and does not have noxious fumes like some varnishes, and a big plus you clean brushes with wsrm soapy water so no need for turps!!. It dries well and it is easy to apply 2 or 3 coats. I have applied with brush and sponge pad both work equally well.

Deepens the colour
You have to use this on a suitable painting e.g. I also use the Matt and Satin varnishes according to the finish I want. The gloss deepens the colours and the Matt makes them slightly lighter. Matt is good for flattening any unwanted textures whereas gloss tends to highlight them

Definitely Did The Job !
Since it’s nearly Christmas, I was looking to make Christmas Eve plates with acrylic paints and I realised I needed some product to keep the paint from smudging and coming off. This was advised from a store member and it was perfect!! Done the job properly!

This product was exactly what I was looking for!
I asked a member of staff to help me to find a gloss varnish to paint on top of a picture of mine, and the lady suggested this. I decided to give it a try and purchase it, and it is brilliant!!! Does exactly what it says it does.
