Easy to use brush on varnish for acrylic paintings
Bought this satin varnish to provide a little sheen to rocks painted with acrylic paints. It has quite a strong odour, especially when first applied, but this isn't too unpleasant and it quickly dissipates as the product dries. We have used it inside the house without gassing the room out! Total drying time between coats though is 24 hours, and the product doesn't state whether it is water or UV proof, so might not be suitable for use on outdoor art projects. The varnish is quite thin and easily applied, and brushes clean up well with warm water. The dried finish leaves a subtle sheen and enriches the colours of the paints, although it takes two coats at least to give a thoroughly sealed appearance to the paintings.

Great for certain mediums but not so great for others
This varnish is quite a good price for the quantity and quality as you only need a small amount, I bought it for a plant pot I painted with acrylic and some gold gilding; it worked really well over the acrylic, the finish was beautiful, made the colours pop and seems very durable however, it didn't work well over the gold (artificial) at all, it just made it really dull and peel off in places

Let it shine
This is great. I have never used anything like this before, but would now, highly recommend. Easily achieved a great Satin varnish finish. Very pleasing to the eye. Better still, the application is so simple. Not thick or tacky, like the more traditional varnishes. An added bonus, brushes can be cleaned in water. No harsh chemicals required.

Best choice of varnish
I absolutely love using this to finish up my paintings which you can check out @gellybeanartistry on insta! This satin varnish leaves a kind of glossy but not too glossy finish but at the same time a matte but not too matte finish at the same time. Just somewhere in between which is perfect for me.

Satin Varnish
Good for a water based varnish. Be aware that all the water based varnishes from Windsor & Newton can react with some inks causing them to run, or bleed. Always worth testing if you have used ink especially pen or marker pen ink.

Great finish
I have never used acrylic varnish before and was pleased with the end result. It starts to dry as you paint it on, so try not to over brush. I did use a small sponge roller and the result was much better than a brush.

Easy to use - beautiful results
The varnish is super easy to use, is really smooth, and has a gorgeous finish!
It also dries (not fully but enough to move) really quickly. Which is super helpful when you have a house filled with naughty pets!
