Good quality acrylic yarn
Though this is an acrylic yarn, it yarn is soft and has a nice shine. It is pleasant to crochet with and has decent stitch definition, and (due to the amount per ball for the considerably low price) is great for blankets, afghans and throws.
However, despite being lovely to crochet and creating a pleasant product, it has a lot of tangles (yarn barf) from the centre pull so I would recommend working from the outside (though this tends to be inconvenient due to having to unwrap it every time you need a bit more yarn - hence the 4 stars rather than 5).
Ignoring this, I would definitely recommend this yarn and can easily see myself buying it again.

Biggest Ball of lovlinessever by Women's Institute Denim Soft and Smooth Aran Yarn 400g
Lockdown made me want to do something creative and positive. l hadn't worked for a while so before we entered into the January phase l visited the Longham Hobby Craft... it was bustling with creative people of all ages!!
I didn't know what l was going to do until l saw the biggest and most vivid ball of lovliness ever by The Womans Institute on the shelf was a georgous denim soft blue Aran Yarn 400g dk and l knew instantly what l wanted to do.
Tiniest of problems, l hadn't knitted for 25 years and didnt own a pair of needles or have a pattern!
So borrowed from mama in law and set out my plan. l chose size 10 needles.
Casting on 160 stitches took me longer than l ever thought, not because of the yarn which is fantastic but l felt like l was knitting with a pair of walking sticks! l dropped more stitches than l care to divulge and would start the cast on all over again however; after day 3 l was past 6 rows of stocking stitch and on my way.
The yarn stood up to all my fopauxs and found it lovely and easy to knit with.
The result took me a over a week but eventually l finshed my poncho.
If Lock down has taught me one thing it is to be more patient with myself and go with the flow and would recommend anyone who thinks they can't do something to just try.
My poncho isn't perfect but it was made with bundles of patience sheer determinantion. and lots of talking to meself.

Soft and Smooth is the perfect name for this yarn.
Lovely yarn, it is soft and smooth to crochet with. To me it feels like cotton yarn which I like and it shows great stitch definition. Will definitely use this yarn again.

Perfect for my knitting
This is the third colour of this particular wool that I have used - my sons gave me one ball each of 3 colours, so I have knitted two cardigans in 2 colours - and of course had to get extra balls of both. Those cardigans finished ….. mmmmm what do I do with the blue - a jumper and because the one ball wouldn’t be enough, I came to hobby craft for a second ball …. And was so pleased you had it in stock.

Outstanding wool
I love using this Aran wool as firstly it always makes up so well, is good value and with it size you can make so many useful items. How often do you knit items and on wearing they bobble. That does not happen with this wool. Even after wearing and washing it keeps its look. After all when you knit your finished item is quite unique not mass produced.

Lovely yarn
This is a lovely soft yarn to knit with whether doing traditional aran patterns or just plain knitting. Also there were no annoying joins in the 400g ball. It washes well and keeps its shape and colour. I particularly like the denim shade which is perfect with jeans.
I will definitely try the other shades available.
