How to Crochet a Hot Air Balloon Garland

Tr – Treble Crochet
Slst - Slip Stitch

Rep - Repeat
Using your yarn of choice and 3.5mm hook, ch4, slst into first ch to make a ring.
Round 1: Ch3, 11tr into ring, slst into top of ch3. (12tr)
Round 2: Ch3, tr into same space as ch3, *2dc into next stitch* rep around. Slst into top of ch3. (24tr)
Round 3: Ch3, 1tr into same space, *1tr, 2tr into next st* rep around. 1tr in last st and slip stitch into top of ch3. (36tr)
Round 4: Ch2, dc into each st, slip stitch into top of ch2. (36dc)
Round 5-6: Rep round 4.
Round 7: Ch2, *1dc, dc2tog* rep around, slst into top of ch2. (24dc)
Round 8: Ch2, *1dc, dc2tog* rep around, slst into top of ch2. (16dc)
Round 9: Ch2, *2dc, dc2tog* rep around, slst into top of ch2. (12dc)
Begin stuffing with toy stuffing.
Round 10: Ch2, *dc2tog* rep around, slst into top of ch2. (6dc)
Round 11: Ch2, 1dc into each st, slip stitch into top of ch2.
Round 12: Ch2, Dc in each stitch.
Fasten off.
Add a little extra stuffing and squish it around until you get the desired balloon shape.
Make a MC.
Round 1: Ch2, 9dc into MC, tighten magic circle and slip stitch into ch2.
Round 2: Ch2, 1dc into each stitch, slip stitch into ch2.
Round 3: Repeat round 2.
Leave a long tail so you can attach your basket to your balloon.
Join another length of thread to the opposite side of your basket, and attach to your balloon – neatly tucking any loose ends up inside.
Make as many balloons and baskets as you desire and then thread a long length of yarn through the tops of the balloons to hang them up in a garland.
