Cricut: How to Make Ice Cream Van Party Bags
This summer, embrace an ice cream theme and surprise every guest with unique party bags to match! The ice cream van party bags are perfect for housing a slice of birthday cake or mini favour.
You could even personalise each one using the draw function on your Cricut machine to create tags for each of your guests!
The Cricut Maker was used to create this project; however, this project can also be created using any of the Cricut Explore machines.
Project and Instructions by Emma Jewell.
Please note: This project contains paid-for content from Cricut's Design Space app. Screen reference images are taken from the desktop version of Design Space.

How to make
You will also need:
* Cricut Design Space app installed on a laptop, PC, Tablet or mobile device
Start by opening up the project in the Cricut Design Space app using the project link at the top of this post, or alternatively use the link below - https://design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/60a52878852b850ffcda4908
To access the project, copy and paste the link into your browser, you will be directed to a Cricut ladning page, select 'Open' followed by 'Open Cricut Design Space Application'.
The app will open (you may be prompted to log in) and the project overview screen will appear.
Once the projects has loaded if you wish to add more tags, simpy duplicate the ones that are there and double-click on the text to type in the names of your party guests.
Then click 'Make it'.
The Ice creams part of the tag design will use the 'Print Then Cut' feature and the banners will draw then cut.
Start with the ice creams, click print and print onto plain white cardstock.
Place the printed sheet onto the mat and load the mat into the machine. The machine will read the sensor marks first before cutting out your design
Once all the printed pieces have been cut, load a sheet of coloured cardstock onto the mat and into the machine. Then insert a pen into the accessory port on your machine.
The machine will draw the names then cut out the banner shapes, repeat this step with all of the different colours of cardstock until all of the names are complete.
Next glue the names onto the printed ice creams.
Add a gem to either end of the banner.
To finish the tags, thread twine through the hole and tie a knot to secure.
To create the party bags, make sure that you have opened the project in your Design Space Canvas.
Make sure that you have enough treat boxes for your guests by duplicating the pieces in the 'Layers' panel.
Once you have the correct amount, head to 'Make it' and start with the ice cream vans. As these are a 'Print then Cut' image you will need to send these to print.
Print the sheet onto plain white cardstock. Once the desing has printed, secure the cardstock to a LightGrip cutting mat, then load into your Cricut machine.
Once all of the printed pieces have been cut, secure a sheet of plain coloured cardstock onto the mat and into the machine to cut.
Load your scoring tool (this could be either the scoring stylus or the scoring wheel) into the machine then start the cut.
Once cut, fold along the score lines to create a nice crisp fold. Then assemble the pieces to create the box by gluing each flap to the corresponding side.
To finish the party bags, glue the printed ice cream vans to each side of the box.
