Step 1
First paint the cardboard tubes - for the Queen and Guards, use pink and brown paint on the top section of the tubes. For the Corgis, cut three cardboard tubes down to 6cm in length and bend the tops inwards to create the ears. Then coat with tan paint and leave to dry.

Step 2
Next, give the Queen a white felt dress and purple felt sash, stuck in place with glue. Add some stick-on pearl gems around her neck and glue some pom poms for her hair. Draw on some eyes, a nose and mouth with paint pens.

Step 3
Now cut and stick a rectangular ‘cloak’ of purple felt around the Queen’s body, and trim with strips of white felt and a stick-on gemstone. Make a crown using the template and some silver card and embellish with silver stick-on gems. Glue it to the top of the Queen’s head.

Step 4
For the Queen’s Guards, first cut and stick strips of black and red felt around the bottom section of the painted tubes for the trousers and shirt. Add a white felt ‘belt’ around the middles where the strips meet. Then use the template, some card and black felt to make the hats, and glue to the top of the tubes. Finish off by drawing a nose and mouth peeping beneath the hat on each.

Step 5
For the Queen’s Corgis, first use the template to cut and stick a white felt nose to each of the tan painted tubes. Then add a strip of white felt around the bottom of each, followed by a thin strip of purple felt. Now add some tan felt feet, a pink felt tongue and black felt nose. Finally draw on some black eyes and glue a white pom pom tail to the back of each.

Step 6
Now it’s time to make Buckingham Palace - first paint the empty cereal box with cream paint and leave to dry. Cut out some cardboard triangles and paint this cream. When dry, stick them along the top of the box, equally spaced apart.

Step 7
Next, use a ruler and white paint pen to draw vertical and horizontal lines on the painted box. Paint on some blue windows and a brown door and leave to dry. Add the number ‘70’ in silver stickers to the middle roof section.

Step 8
Now, make a felt Union Jack flag using the template as a guide, and glue it to a cocktail stick before attaching to middle roof. Finally, cut and stick some small triangular felt ‘bunting’ flags along the front of the palace.
