Use your iron-on vinyl scraps to personalise a zip pouch design to match your colour scheme, giving every guest a keepsake they can use every day.

Screen reference images are taken from the iPad version of Design Space. This project has been created on the Cricut Maker 3, but any of the Cricut machines can be used to recreate this project.

How to make

Step 1
Open Design Space and start a new project.

Open the ‘Image’ library and search for the image number shown. Select and insert onto the canvas.

Use the ‘Edit’ panel to resize the selected image to 6” wide.

Once happy, press the ‘Make it’ button and select ‘On Mat’ if Design Space prompts.

Make sure to mirror the mat by clicking the button.

Press continue, connect to your machine and then select ‘Everyday Iron-on Vinyl’.

Please note: For this project you must use all the same type of vinyl scraps at the same time.

Now prep your mat.

Start by cutting strips of heat resistant tape slightly longer than the width of your design.

Lay these on the mat, sticky side up.

About 5 strips will do. Use a brayer to help if needed.

Cut your scrap iron-on vinyl to ½” strips, make sure they are slightly longer than the design at around 4”.

Apply the strips to the prepared heat transfer tape section of your mat. Shiny side down and make sure the edges are flush with each other.

Step 10
Follow the onscreen instructions to cut out your design.
Step 11
Unload and weed your design, while it is still on the mat
Step 12
Carefully lift the heat transfer tape from one edge, ensure you lift the iron-on vinyl without shifting the pieces.

Step 13
Using the Cricut Heat Press Guide; https://cricut.com/en_us/heatguide, follow the steps to iron-on your design. Making sure to preheat the cotton bag first.
Step 14
Position the design into place, shiny side up now and heat.

Once cool, peel off the backing and heat proof tape and enjoy!
