Good for canning
I have lots of Ball canning jars, but needed more. I am using these for pressure canning and water bath canning. They have held up very well, and are exactly like Ball. The lids I'm discarding, and using the 2 part 'forjars' or 'ball' ring-bands, and lid inserts. But you probably could get use out of the lids, only I'm not used to them, and I save them for using on my storage jars instead.

Excellent jars
I’ve just bottled five and a half kilos of home grown tomatoes! These jars are excellent and tops are compatible with Kilner lids so no need to worry about replacements when re-using the jars another year.
Capacity is 400 grams the same as a standard can.
Looking forward to my own tomatoes over the winter.

Good product, at a good price
Needed jars for jam making. Couple of sizes available. Went for 1lb ones. Followed instructions to sterilise before use. Jars have maintained sterility and jam 4 months on.

Jars ideal for crafting
I used these jars for crafting with my granddaughters for Halloween. Ideal for painting or decoupage. We attached clay cutouts to these jars not painted them yet.

Are these suitable for water and pressure canning
These jars cannot be used for pressure canning. They shouldd only be used for normal storage purpose only

We would not recommend subjecting these to extremes of heat and cold.

The information on the box says 'Suitable for temperatures up to 100⁰c'. I suspect this means that I can't sterilise them in the oven in that case. How would you suggest these jars are sterilised to be used for chutney?
I sterilise my jars by filling room temperature jars to the brim with boiling water and leaving for a few minutes. Didn't get as far as the standing part - the first one I used literally exploded when the water was halfway up the jar, showering me and the work surfaces with shards of glass. I'll use the rest for storing pulses etc.
