Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little machine I recently treated myself to a Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine after lots of thought and trying to cope without one. I have only one question - WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG? Really there is no comparison to even the best scissor skills and even punches don't quite make the grade any more. I bought the Big Shot after reading lots of reviews and comments from satisfied owners and simply because I liked the look of it. In use it is sturdy and feels strong and although it does take up room on my table it is also easy to move around. I am just awaiting the arrival of some Christmas dies to really make my new toy work for its keep. All in all a happy buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this little machine I wanted a manual die cutting machine, as I already own an A4 Gemini which I find too powerful on some delicate papers and mirror card. Went to Hobbycraft to buy the Big Shot Plus but received very good advice steering me towards this smaller machine: * Replacement cutting plates cheaper than the A4 size * Much lighter to take to craft clubs * Majority of dies I already own fit within the aperture of this lovely little machine Very pleased with results so far. Cuts really well across a range of dies and takes up hardly any storage space compared with the larger machines.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big Shot is a big hit Product: + Very solid/good quality + Easy to use + Good price on the offer + Excellent clean cuts - Each cut marks the plates, so they do look scruffy quickly* *Replacements are available and I believe Sizzix produce foam pads to use in conjunction with this product. I am disappointed that this wasn't mentioned in the description. Would definitely recommend this cutter. 4* not 5* because of how damaged the plates get. Hobbycraft: + Quick delivery + Well packaged + Good communication re order + Online order easy/user friendly - Customer service didn't provide a satisfactory response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality machine I chose the Sizzix Big Shot as it had good reviews, even the lady on the till said she'd had hers for 17 years and it was still going strong! I love it, but be aware that if you want to do embossing too, you'll have to buy the Sizzix Impressions Pad and the Silicon Rubber mat, as they don't come with the machine and you need both of them for embossing. I do recommend the Big Shot though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic machine This is a lovely machine to use and move. Initially getting it out if the box, I had to remove a few protective bits and attach the handle, which was very easy and only took back couple of minutes. It's not huge and feels substantial in weight. Moving a die through the machine is almost effortless. Beautiful results from a Hobbycraft intricut pattern. Would totally recommend this sizzix big shot to anyone. I considered the plus, but on reflection, probably won't be needing the additional A4 cutting area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for Extending Crafting Possibilities I spent some time looking at various die cutters & their associated reviews & came to the conclusion this was the best for my needs as a beginner carder wanting to progress, with possible papercrafting options (eg paper flowers) at a later date. I have been really impressed at the ease of using this machine. It cuts & embosses well. The instructions are clear & the equipment simple. The A4 version would have been too bulky for my storage & possibly rarely used, compared with the 6" width that deals with the card sizes I want to work with. I can't believe the world this has opened up for me. As someone with visual difficulties this machine will mean I am able to continue crafting long after I would be able to paint! The price in Hobbycraft was the best on the market currently & it was good to be able to see it in store before buying. If you're looking for a cutting machine for standard size cards and projects this is the one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple to use Be prepared to find space in your craft cupboard! Not just for the machine, but for the platform, and the dies you'll inevitably buy! Don't be alarmed by cracking noise when you put your work through the wringer, and the plastic plates do look lived-in pretty soon! Sometimes tricky to work out which platform with which die, to get certain effects, so useful to look at videos from other crafters too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little machine I bought this to replace my previous bigshot machine which I'd owned for 7 years. I didn't go with one of the newer electronic ones as funds are low at the moment and I wasn't disappointed. Delivery took 4 days and arrived well packed. It was very easy to set up out of the box and included the tools to do so. It cuts well and with ease with a range of dies. The only negative is that it comes with the extended base but only has the starndard sand which plates.
